Thank you for sharing and the book recommendations! My recent good reads A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles! You’re welcome! 😇

I’ve gotta check out Tolle! I’ve read Gentleman, but you’re the second to recommend it this morning, maybe time to reread. Did you notice the time techniques he used? So cool. What a book. (Lincoln Highway by him is great too!)

The time structure:

The first chapter takes place the day after the Count's arrest.

The second chapter takes place two days after the first.

Subsequent chapters take place five days, ten days, three weeks, six weeks, three months, six months, one year, two years, four years, eight years, and sixteen years after the first chapter.

After the 16 year mark, the structure reverses and the time between chapters begins to halve.

The structure continues to halve until the final day of the story.

Indeed! The time technique is brilliant just like the essence of the story where there is one point in time in our life that defines our essence (maybe in a lot of people, more than one). I’m almost done with his rules of civility which is equally brilliant. I will check out lincoln highway
